Pannai Chest Clinic reopens[TamilNet, Wednesday, 21 September 2005, 08:14 GMT]Pannai Chest clinic destroyed during the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) occupation of Jaffna Fort and later operating under trying conditions in private buildings began functioning in a newly constructed building, Wednesday. "Although we do not have adequate resources, both personnel and medical equipment, we will be able to provide much needed diagnosis, attention and medical care to patients," said Dr Yamunananthan, Director of the Hospital. The Pannai chest clinic is part of Myliddy hospital. Buildings that served as hospital wards in Myliddy, although equipped with health facilities, are located in the SLA demarked High Security Zone (HSZ), and are currently occupied by the SLA soldiers.
