Trinco Fine Art Institute holds annual festival

Trincomalee Fine Art Institute held its annual Art Festival-2005 during the weekend in Sri Muthucumaraswami Kovil Wedding Hall. The Sri Muthucumaraswami Thevasthanam runs the Institute free of charge for courses in fine art such as carnatic music and oriental dance to Tamil children in Trincomalee.

Carnatic exponent Ms Wijekumary Thavasilingam is in charge of the Institute. The annual festival commenced with the lighting of traditional oil lamp by the Chief Guest Mr.M.Rajaretnam, Principal of Trincomalee Sri Koneswara Hindu College followed by other guests Ms Siththi Pathmanathan, retired In-Service Advisor of the Department of Education, Ms P.Jeyatheva, retired music teacher, Mr.T.Thavasilingam, President of the Institute and Ms Wijeyakumary Thavasilingam, Administrator of the Institute.

Chief guest and other guests commended the services of the Institute for producing qualified youngsters in the field of fine arts.

Ms Thevigaranee Murugupillai, Vice President of the Institute delivered the welcome address.
