Mannar to hold Heroes Day final event Sunday

Heroes Day final events in Mannar district are to be held in mausoleums in Periyapanddivirichchan and Aandankulam in the Liberation Tigers held areas. Parents of about two thousand LTTE martyrs of Mannar district are to be honored Sunday evening at these events, sources said

In the meantime, a group of unidentified men dressed in shorts Saturday early morning around 12.30 a.m.forcibly removed and burnt down all decorations including yellow and red flags put up to celebrate the fifty first birthday of LTTE leader Mr.Pirapaharan in the Mannar town area, residents said.

The mob set fire to all flags and other decorations they removed in Mannar bazaar, sources said.
