TNA MP on US visit

Ms Pathmini Sithamparanathan, Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Member of Parliament (MP) for Jaffna district arrived Friday evening in US for a two week speaking tour. She accepted an invitation by the Florida Tamil Sangam to speak at the organization's annual event on 11 December, organizers of the event said.
 Ms Sithamparanathan is accompanied by her husband, Professor Sithamparanathan, a playwright and producer of Tamil plays who is attached to the Jaffna Campus. Ms Sithamparanathan and Prof Sithamparanathan are scheduled to visit several US cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Ohio and will speak to Tamil dispora on issues affecting Tamils in the NorthEast. Ms Sithamparanathan was a school teacher before emerging as a popular spokesperson for NorthEast Tamils during the Sri Lanka general elections of 2004.
