TNA MP spotlights irregularities in teacher appointment
[TamilNet, Tuesday, 07 February 2006, 17:27 GMT]
Mr.S.Jeyananadamoorthy, Batticaloa District Tamil National Alliance
parliamentarian has complained to the Minister of Education that several
qualified volunteer teachers have been ignored when permanent appointments
were given recently in the North East. He appealed to the Minister to take
immediate steps to make them permanent, sources said.
Several volunteer-teachers were conferred with permanency during last week.
Although it is said granting permanency is done according a circular issued
in this regard. However there is discrepancy in selecting
volunteer-teachers for permanency. Volunteer teachers who are serving for
more than a decade in schools located in difficult areas are ignored
completely, Mr.Jeyanandamoorthy said in his letter to the Minister Mr.Susil
Premajayanth, sources said.
