New mobile health clinics for Northeast

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) arranged a press conference at its office in Jaffna town, to announce that it was setting up 65 new mobile clinics in the Northeast of Sri Lanka, said sources in Jaffna.

The clinics are to visit detainees once a week in their places of confinement in the northeast, and see to their welfare.

Mobile clinics are active in Batticaloa and other areas, where they not only look after the health needs of the prisoners, but serve as a communication link between them and their families.
