Two die of cholera

Two people have died of Cholera recently in Mannar and six new cases have been detected said Medical Health Officer (MHO) of Mannar Dr. Kathirkamanathan. The dead patients are Aarumukam Subenthira, 18 from Vaddakkandal and Ameer Jameela, 35, mother of four, from Erukkalampiddy.

He said that health authorities in Mannar had taken preventive measures to control the spread of the disease.

The sale of ice-creams and soft drinks that have not been bottled has been banned and authorities have launched awareness programmes to educate the public, he said further.
