LTTE political office in Arayampathi burnt

The Arayampathi political office of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), located in the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) controlled area in Kathankudy, Batticaloa, was set on fire Thursaday morning by unidentified persons who had damaged and robbed the things inside the office, said sources from Kathankudy.

This office had remained closed since the LTTE cadres of the political wing withdrew from Sri Lanka Government controlled areas.

Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) in Batticaloa has been notifed of the incident, according to sources.

Kathankudy Police is investigating the incident, said Kathankudy police.

Arayampathi located 6km south of Batticaloa.
