Normalcy yet to return in Trincomalee

State and private sector bus services came to a standstill from Wednesday evening with bomb explosion and violence did not return to normalcy Friday. Bus stand was deserted and shops were not opened on Friday. The public market was also closed. More government troops and police have been deployed in the town and its suburbs.

Few Hindus were seen Friday morning attending New Year special Pooja held in temples in Trincomalee town.

Funerals of few dead on Wednesday were held Friday morning with police escort, sources said.

With the news that another claymore blast had taken place at Allesgarden Friday afternoon the civilian movement in the town came to complete halt, sources said.
