LTTE cadre, civilian killed in Claymore attack in Mannar

An LTTE cadre and a civilian were killed when the motocycle in which they were riding was hit by a claymore blast on Palampitty road, in Thatchanamaruthamadu in LTTE controlled area, around 1.30 p.m., Saturday, LTTE sources in Mannar said.

The Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) officials were on their way to the blast site, sources said.

Isaivanan (LTTE member) and Nakuleswaran were killed on the spot, the sources said.

In a similar attack two days ago, two civilians were killed in LTTE held Mullikulam, northwest of Vavuniya.
