Indian citizen killed in Friday Trinco violence

Death toll in the Friday violence in the suburbs of Trincomalee town increased to three with two more bodies of Tamil civilians including an Indian citizen were handed over to the Trincomalee general hospital Saturday morning. Earlier a sixty-year-old Tamil woman Somasuntharam Maheswary from Nadesapuram in Kanniya was knifed to death when violence broke out Friday afternoon, sources said.
One of the three dead was an Indian citizen Venkadasamy Venkatraman (30) of Ramamoorthy Nagar, Bangalore in South India. He was an astrologer by profession. The third to be killed was Thannimalai Namasivayalingam aged 28. He had been a minor employee of the Trincomalee district secretariat, police sources said. Meanwhile, transport services to and from Trincomalee are still not returned to normalcy. Shops were not opened and roads in the town were deserted., sources said.
