Three civilians killed, 8 wounded in Wednesday Kfir strike

Three civilians, including Muslim Moulavi and his wife were killed and eight others were injured when Kfir jet of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Wednesday bombed a Muslim village 'Vaddam' in the government controlled Muttur town. The Israeli-made Kfir fighters resumed bombing Muttur east villages Wednesday morning around 7 a.m. The air strike continued for about an hour, Muslim civil sources said.

The Moulavi who was killed in the air strike was identified as Zeinudeen. Moulavi's wife Akram Muflika (25) and his sister Junaideen Munira (18) died while being taken to the Trincomalee General Hospital, medical sources said. Kfir jets targeted several Tamil villages including Kadatkaraichchenai in Muttur east. The Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) is taking all the wounded to Trincomalee general hospital by its gunboat, civil sources said.
