3 SLA troopers killed, 2 civilians missing after Claymore ambush[TamilNet, Thursday, 27 April 2006, 12:24 GMT]Three SLA soldiers who were on their way to Vallakkulam near Vankalai in Mannar district, were killed and three soldiers seriously wounded in a Claymore ambush around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, police sources in Mannar said. Two civilians bathing in Vallakkulam, including a 40 year-old woman, were missing, civilian sources said. The main road between Nanattan and Vankalai remains cut and soldiers have surrounded the area which remains tense. The Claymore ambush took place at Vallakkulam on Vankalai - Nanattan Road Civilians were seen moving from Thiruvapuri housing scheme which is located close to attack site. Naruvilikulam where Thiruvapuri is located is tense following the attack and heavy deployment of Sri Lankan troopers.
