Paramilitary cadre shot dead, 2 civilians wounded in Kattankudy

Two unidentified gunmen shot and killed a paramilitary Karuna cadre who was riding in a motorbike. A T-56 rifle and a 9 mm gun was recovered by the Police from the site. The incident took place in front of Kattankudy bus stand on Batticaloa Kalmunai main street around 8:00 p.m. Saturday. Two civilians

Mohammed Faid, 25, and L. Mohammed, 12, were wounded in the incident and taken to Batticaloa hospital for treatment.

Dead body of the paramilitary cadre was taken to Kattankudy hospital, police said.
