Gunmen fire at Batticaloa STF post killing home guard

Unknown gunmen opened fire at the Special Task Force (STF) sentry post at the 25th mile post in Maha oya - Mangalagama border area of Batticaloa, on Wednesday 12:45 am killing a home guard, Shantha Bandara, who was on sentry duties at the post, said Bakiella police.

STF forces opened fire for 45 minutes, before cordoning off the area and conducting the search.

The sentry post came under attack Tuesday night also, but no injuries were reported in this incident.
