Tigers probe Omanthai FDLs

The Liberation Tigers attacked the SLA's forward defence localities in Omanthai last evening.

Sources close to the army in Vavuniya said that the LTTE had withdrawn later in the evening and that casualties on both sides were not known.

Army has claimed that there were no casualties on its side. Meanwhile the LTTE handed over to the ICRC the bodies of two Special Task Force personnel they had killed in the 4th colony in the central camp area in the Ampara - Batticaloa border.

The ICRC received the bodies at the LTTE office at Ambilanthurai which is about fifteen kilometers south west of Batticaloa town.
