LTTE cadres' funeral takes place in Muttur east

Two of the four LTTE cadres killed by Sri Lanka Army (SLA) within the LTTE controlled Kadawanaikulam situated along Trincomalee-Kandy road on July 12 night were buried in Alankulam LTTE Heros' cemetary located in the Muttur east with full military honours Friday evening, LTTE sources said.
 Mr.Elilan, LTTE Trincomalee district political head, LTTE Trincomalee district commander Vasanthan and other LTTE leaders leading the funeral procession.

The LTTE cadres were ambushed by SLA soldiers within the LTTE controlled area. The bodies of Captain Thanushan alias Venthan of Batticaloa and Veeravengai Karnan
(Thangavel Karunanidhi) of Mullipottanai in Thampalakamam division were kept for paying last respects at Santhoshapuram School in Muttur east Friday afternoon. Mr.Thangan, LTTE Martyr's Office Head presided. A LTTE cadre garlanded the body of Captain Thanushan alias Venthan and the body of LTTE cadre Karnan was garlanded by his wife. Mr.S.Elilan, LTTE Trincomalee district political head gave the eulogy. Thereafter bodies of both LTTE cadres were taken in a procession to the Alankulam LTTE heros' cemetary and buried with full military honours. LTTE commanders, cadres and large number of Tamil people paid their last respects, sources said.
