Fifteen injured in brawl

Fifteen persons were injured when two factions clashed late evening on Sunday after the Nallur Kandasamy festival celebrations over a dispute involving the molestation of a young woman, said sources in Jaffna.

The two gangs, one from Arasady junction and the other from Milaku junction, fought over a woman who had allegedly been molested by a member of a rival gang.

Gang warfare, which was almost unheard of a few years ago, has raised its head in the past few months, said sources.
