Funeral of LTTE member died in artillery fire held

The funeral of LTTE member, Lt. Murali (Ambalavanan Jeyaruben of Thangapuram, Muttur) who was killed in the artillery fire on the Muttur east villages by the Sri Lanka Army on 14 July was held Saturday evening with full military honours, LTTE sources said.

The body of Lt.Murali was taken in a procession from his residence in Thangapuram to Thangapuram School for the people and LTTE fighters to pay their last respects, sources said. Trincomalee district commander Vasanthan lit the flame of sacrifice. The body of Lt .Murali was garlanded by his wife. Mr.S.Elilan, LTTE Trincomalee district political head delivered the martyr's speech. Thereafter the body was taken to Alankulam LTTE Heros' Cemetery in in Muttur east and buried with full military honours. Colonel Sornam, Special Commander of the LTTE and several others participated, sources in Muttur east said.
