Body found in school Toilet

The Sri Lankan Police while clearing the compound of Vasavilan Mahavidyalayam School, 8 km north-east of Jaffna Town, found a skeleton in the toilet on August 11 said sources.
The school is occupied by the Sri Lankan Army within the Palaly Army's high security zone. A silver chain worn around the waist and a gold ring were also found with the skeleton. The skeleton was handed over to the Chunnakam Police. Meanwhile, Indirani Ratnasingam, 39, of Punnalikkadduvan said during the inquest that she could identify the chain and the ring, and that it was her husband's skeleton. She said that they fled from their house during the military operation in 1995 and her husband went to collect some valuable things from their house in September 1995. However he had not returned, she told the Mallakam Additional Judge Mr. M.Sabanathan who held the inquest. Vasavilan is 2 km southeast of Plalay SLA headquarters that comes within the Army's high security zone.
