6 killed, 5 LTTE cadres, 3 civilians wounded in SLAF bombing

Six Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) cadres were killed and five wounded when Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Kfir jets bombed a camp of the Tigers in Kathiraveli, 40 km southeast of Trincomalee town, in LTTE controlled Vakarai region Thursday around 3:30 p.m., Trincomalee District Political Head of the Tigers, S. Elilan said. Three civilians were also wounded in the attack, according to Mr. Elilan.
The SLAF bombing campaign, following the Mavilaru crisis, has targeted a civilian settlement in Keppapulavu in Mullaithivu district Thursday and the Vaharai region twice, on Wednesday wounding two civilians and on Thursday hitting the LTTE camp and civilian houses. Kathiraveli is located in Batticaloa District. It comes under Trincomalee District administration of the Liberation Tigers.
