Two Sinhalese men shot dead in Trincomalee

Two Sinhalese persons were shot dead by unidentified men in Trincomalee in two separate killings Monday. The first shooting incident took place around 10.30 a.m. at Love Lane, and the second around noon at Chelvanayagapuram, suburbs of east port town, police sources said.
In the first incident the victim was Lakshman Susantha, 32, an owner of a three-wheeler and a resident of Palaiyootu. Susantha was married to a Tamil woman. The victim was shot dead when he was standing in front of the office of Ceylon Electricity Board (CEP) located in Love Lane area, sources said. In the second incident, Liyanage, 22, was shot dead when he stopped his lorry near a church at Chelvanayagapuram. His employer, a Sinhalese, was also in the lorry when the incident took place, police said.
