Recycled Beef?

A Sunday feast turned sour for members of the Eelam Peoples Revolutionary Liberation Front (EPRLF) when they were ordered to hand over the 10 kilos of beef which they had purchased in Velanai, an island off the Jaffna peninsula.
They were ordered to hand over their purchase at an Eelam Peoples Democratic Party (EPDP) checkpoint on the island, said sources in Jaffna. Ironically, the EPRLF members had gone all the way to Velanai from the Peninsula to purchase the beef at a stall run by the EPDP. Beef which is seldom eaten in Jaffna is difficult to buy and expensive too. The availability of cheap, good quality beef in Velanai had prompted the EPRLF to journey to the Island, only to have it confiscated at the EPDP checkpoint itself, said sources.
