Unidentified men shot and injured EPDP members in Vavuniya

Two members of a paramilitary group Eelam Peoples Democratic Party (EPDP) were shot and injured at Kurumankadu area in Vavuniya by unidentified persons. The injured cadres were first admitted to the Vavuniya general hospital and later transferred to Anuradhapura hospital. The shooting had taken place close to the EPDP office in Kurumankadu, Vavuniya Police said.

The injured EPDP cadres were shot when they were standing in the rear portion of the EPDP office.

Vavuniya district EPDP organizer Ragu alleged that LTTE pistol gang had shot these EPDP members who have been identified as Francis Jeganathan and Velumyulm Sritharan.
