SLAF Kfir jets bomb Vadamaradchi East
[TamilNet, Wednesday, 04 October 2006, 04:24 GMT]
Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Kfir bombers flew over Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) controlled Kudarappu in Vadamaradchi East and dropped at least nine bombs in the area around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday. Four Tsunami reconstructed houses were destroyed in the bombardment, according to residents.
Minor clashes were also reported along the Forward Defence Line in the Northern Front. Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Military Spokesman Irasiah Ilanthirayan, commenting on the continuing aerial attacks, questioned Colombo's sincerity to the International Community's call to cease violence. "Colombo also dispatched Kfir bombers that bombed civilian targets in Pooneryn yesterday when Norwegian Special Envoy was in meeting with our Political Head," Mr. Ilanthirayan said. LTTE sources in Kilinochchi said that the Tigers had given necessary security assurances from their part to SLMM officials to visit Muhamalai FDL. Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) officials are yet to inspect the Muhamalai Forward Defence Line area as Sri Lanka military officials denied access, citing security reasons.
