Wild elephants kill three females in Akkaraipattu

Two women and a child were crushed to death by some wild elephants when they entered the village Alimnagar in Akkaraipattu in Amparai district Sunday night around 09:30 p.m. The dead have been identified as Parwathi Amma, 55, Ismail Aysha, 26 and Salman Sharmila, 6, civil sources said.

Marauding elephants Sunday evening entered after dusk charging residents and damaged several huts. Elephants had dragged the victims out of their huts and dashed them on the ground.
