Norwegian peace envoy meets Hakeem

Jon Hansen Bauer, Norwegian peace envoy Monday met with Rauff Hakeem, leader of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) and discussed the current security and political situation in the country. The discussion took place at the official residence of Mr.Rauff Hakeem.

Rauff Hakeem later told media persons in Colombo that the talks mainly centered on the deteriorating security situation and humanitarian disaster in the north and east. Norwegian peace envoy was very keen to know about the security situation in the eastern province and also the prospect of peace process under the current circumstances.
