Cabinet reshuffle at appropriate time- Rajapakse

Sri Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapakse said Sunday in Colombo that he will initiate a cabinet reshuffle at an appropriate time when such need arises, political sources in Colombo said.

Media sources speculated that a cabinet reshuffle is likely to take place in the second of week of January. Reports further said the number of ministers in the cabinet is to be reduced and that some ministers will be given new portfolios.

Another report said Mr.Anura Bandaranaike is to be given a new ministry. Currently he is holding the Ministry of Tourism.
