“India while seeking a military solution to Kashmir conflict has no right to tell Sri Lanka to solve the North East problem without military action,” Bimal Ratnayake, a Member of Parliament of Jantha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), an ultra nationalist Sinhala Party, said in the Sri Lankan Parliament Tuesday morning while speaking on the bill of extending the Emergency Regulations.
“India has no moral authority to speak on human rights while her Army is killing Muslims and raping Muslim women in Kashmir. Furthermore, it should not interfere in Sri Lankan affairs without finding a solution to the Kashmir conflict. It is immoral demanding the cessation of military activities here in North East and waging a war in Kashmir. “US is also trying to interfere in our country’s internal affairs while killing thousands of people in Iraq. The US Ambassador in Sri Lanka had visited Jaffna and then advised the Government to send food and medicines telling us that there were severe shortages. "US that has already imposed economic embargo on countries like Iraq, Cuba and North Korea, has no right to request our government to open the access route and send food without imposing an embargo on Jaffna. US, the biggest terrorist in the world, cannot tell us to stop military operations in North East,” the MP said.
