Paramilitaries abduct three civilians in East

Three civilians were abducted by Karuna group paramilitary personnel driving in white vans in two separate incidents in Kaluwanchikudy in Batticaloa district, and in Thirukovil area in Ampara district.
S.Mugunthan, 27, employed in a private insurance corporation and his assistant were abducted Sunday afternoon in the Kaluwanchikudy police division while on their official work. A complaint regarding these abductions has been lodged on Monday afternoon at the Kaluwanchikudy police by the relatives. Meanwhile, Kandiah Selvarasa, 47, a father of three, a resident of Alaiyadi road in Thambiluvil in Thirukovil police division in Ampara district was abducted Saturday night at 8:30 p.m by Karuna group paramilitary personnel Selvarasa was abducted from his home
while he was with his family members, police said Kaluwanchikudy police as well as Thirukovil police have commenced investigations into these abductions. Kaluwanchikudy is located 24 km south of Batticaloa and Thirukovil is 74 km south of Batticaloa
