Tamil youth shot dead in Kantalai railway station

Unidentified armed men Monday afternoon shot dead a Tamil youth at the Kantalai railway station. The youth is said to be a resident of Killiveddy in Serunuwara police division in Trincomalee district.

The victim had come to Kantalai from Killiveddy accompanied by his mother to go to Batticaloa by train. He was shot while coming out of the rest room in the station.

Victim's body was handed over to the Kantalai government Hospital for postmortem examination.

Kantalai Police are conducting investigation into the killing.
