Three bodies with cut wounds recovered in Vavuniya

Vavuniya police recovered bodies of three youths with several cut wounds to their neck and chest, inflicted by sharp instruments, near Pandarikulam Amman temple in Vavuniya Tuesday, sources from Vavuniya said. Local residents informed the Vavuniya Police of the abandoned bodies lying in the area.

A written note, signed 'Peoples Well-wishers,' was found beside the bodies said the three are being punished for their involvement in extortion of money from the public.

The note also had the cell phone number 0786256458 which the youths had used to coerce money.

The police handed over the bodies to Vavuniya hospital for postmortem examinations.

The bodies remain unidentified.
