Muslim youth arrested with missing police rifle in Kalmunai

Kalmunai police arrested Tuesday morning a Muslim youth who had in his possession a T-56 rifle that had gone missing when a police constable was shot dead at Kalmunai by unidentified persons latter part of last year.

M. M. Sarban, 27, of Division 4, Kalmunai, was arrested at his home.

He is being detained at Kalmunai police station and is being interrogated, according to police sources.

Kalmunai is located 22 km northeast of Amparai.
