SLN arrests two siblings in Mannar

Two youngsters, a sister and brother, who arrived in Peasaalai Saturday morning around 8:00 a.m. in a fibre glass boat from Iluppaikkadavai in LTTE held territory in Mannar (Mannaar) district were taken into custody by the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN). They were later handed over to Thalaimannaar Police for questioning, sources said.

Guruparan Kirushanthy, 18, and her brother Guruparan Sajeevan, 16, of Mullaiththeevu said they came to Peasaalai to see their relatives.

The boatman who brought them was also taken into custody and is being detained in Thalaimannaar Police Station for further questioning, Police sources said.
