Youth shot dead in Earaavoor

Unidentified gunmen shot dead a youth Monday around 7:30 p.m at a cross road in Ka'luvankea'ni in Ea'raavoor police division in Batticaloa while riding to his employer's house on his bicycle, Ea'raavoor police said.

The victim was idetified as Mahendran Krishnaraj, 19, a fisherman by profession from Theavaapuram Veethi in ka'luvankea'ni.

Krishnaraj, living with his elder sister, was on his way after dinner to his employer so that he could go fishing with him early next day.

ka'luvankea'ni is located 18 km northeast of Batticaloa.
