Tamil youth found dead in Chilaw

A Tamil youth was found dead in his paddy field at Kattaikaadu area in Munthal police division in Chilaw district Monday. The victim has been identified as Weeramalai Jegan, 29. Police began inquiry into the death following a complaint lodged by the deceased mother Ms B.Weeramalai, sources said.



The body of the youth had been handed over to the Chilaw Base Hospital for post-mortem examination, sources said.

Munthal village is currently subjected to frequent cordon and search operation, sources said.
