President solicits Tamil MP's Support

The Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumarathunge will meet leaders of Tamil political parties on November 6 prior to debate on government's budget proposal for the next year, said political sources in Colombo.

Matters related to situation of the local government bodies in the north, security situation for it's members and development projects in Jaffna are expected to be discussed at this meeting.

However, further details of the meeting have not been revealed yet they added.

Ex-militant source in Colombo said the president may seek the Tamil parties' support for the government's budget proposal.
