Abducted Colombo youth found shot dead in Avissawella

The Tamil youth abducted from Kotahena in Colombo on July 15 was found to shot to death at an estate in Avissawella in Hill country Sunday morning. The victim's hands were tied tied behind his back and his body had several gun shot injuries. The victim was identified as Ignatius Mahotharar aged 24, an engineer by profession, Police sources said.

Police said that the body was recovered on information they obtained from two suspects arrested in regard to the alleged abduction.

Both suspects were earlier was contracted to repair the house of the deceased in Kotahena.

The two workers abducted the youth demanding a ransom of five million rupees, police sources said.
