Body with gunshot wounds recovered in Batticaloa

Vellaave'li police recovered a body of a male with gun shot wounds at 6:30
p.m. Tuesday in Kaakkaachchivaddai in Batticaloa district, on
information received from residents in the area, police sources said.
The victim, a day labourer had gone with some of his friends to sell lottery
tickets during Po'rukaamam PillayarTemple festival, when unidentified men
riing on a motorcycle alleged to have abducted him. The victim was identified as Sinnathamby Nithyananan, 25, a family man
residing in Po'rukaamam, Koayilpoaratheevu in Vellaave'li region. He was
disabled and was originally from kokkaddichchoalai. His body was taken to Ka'luvaagnchikkudi hospital and subjected to post
mortem examination . The body was later handed over to his relatives.
