Body of youth found in Mannaar cemetery

The body of an unidentified youth was found lying in the general cemetery in Mannaar town Monday afternoon around 1.30 p.m.. local residents who witnessed the body said. Mannaar Divisional Secretary Ms Stanley de Mel was informed of the site of the body, and she intimated the information to the Mannaar police.

Mannaar Police rushed to the site and held inquiry at the spot.

Later the body was handed over to the Mannar general hospital for identification and inquest, sources said.

Preliminary inquiry had revealed that this youth had been killed elsewhere and his body dumped in the general cemetery, sources said.
