Youth shot dead in Point Pedro

Two unidentified armed men on motorcycle shot dead a youth Monday morning at his house in Thampasiddi in Point Pedro, Vadamaraadchi and fled from the place. Point Pedro Magistrate K. Ariyanayagam conducted the inquest into death Tuesday and ordered the body to be handed over to the victim's family.

The victim was identified as Arulanantham Thayanantha, 21, a student of a private educational institution.

The killers on motorcycle had gone to the Thayanantha's house in Thampasiddi and shot him dead.

Thayanantha's body was kept at Manthikai hospital.

The magistrate directed the police to investigate into the killing and submit a report to Point Pedro Court .

The police handed over the body to his parents Tuesday.
