TNA delegation meets UN High Commissioner for Human Rights

A delegation of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Wednesday evening
met Louise Arbour, the United Nations high commissioner for human rights at the UN office in Colombo and briefed her about the
deteriorating human rights situation in Sri Lanka, especially in the
northeast.
The TNA parliamentarians Gajendrakumar Ponnampalam and Suresh Premachandran accompanied Mr. Sampanthan in their meeting with Ms. Louise Arbour. Louise Arbour is scheduled to meet relatives of missing
and abducted persons in Colombo on Thursday. The meeting is to be held
at the office of Civil Monitoring Committee led by Colombo
parliamentarian Mr.Mano Ganeshan, leader of the Western Peoples Front
(WPF). Arbour is scheduled to meet relatives of abducted and
missing in Jaffna on Friday at UN office located along Temple Road in
the town.
