Muslim trader shot dead in Akkaraippattu

A 35-year-old Muslim video store owner was shot by two unidentified gun men riding in a motorbike Sunday night 7:30p.m. at his business located on Main Street in Akkaraippattu. The gunmen used a pistol, and fled the scene after the shooting, local sources said.

The victim identified as M.Uwaiz, a resident of First Division, Akkaraippattu, succumbed to his injuries while being transported to Akkaraippattu Hospital, police said.

The police have commenced investigations into the killing.
