Police arrest TMVP personnel in Kaaththaankudi

Kaaththaankuci police arrested a personnel of TMVP paramilitary Tuesday
around 5:00 p.m in Kaaththaankudi with the motorcycle he robbed from a
Muslim trader, Ibrahim
Mohamed Pakeem. The hand grenade the paramilitary man allegedly used
to threatenthe trader was found in his possession when he was
arrested, Police said.
Police arrested Kanesan Vigneswaran after he met with an accident at
Naavatkudaa. Special Task Force (STF) troops and police conducting
inquiry at the site of the accident discovered the hand grenade. Kaaththaankudi police produced Vigneswaran Wednesday morning before
Batticaloa Magistrate M. S. M. Issadeen who directed the police to place him
in remand custody. Meanwhile, political offices of the TMVP paramilitary in
Mailampaaveli and Chnegkaladi areas in Batticaloa district have abandoned
their offices which had been taken over by rival Pillayan group.
