Two students feared abducted in Jaffna

Parents of two students from Velaayutham Vidyalayam in Point Pedro and Vaddukoddai Central College have disappeared in the last two days, parents of the students complained at the Human Rights Commission (HRC) offices in Jaffna, officials at HRC said.

Kantharuban, 17, from Puloly West, Point Pedro, and a GCE (O/L) student at the Velaayutham Vidyalayam failed to return home from School and is alleged to have been abducted by the Intelligence wing of the Sri Lanka Army (SLA), sources said.

Meanwhile, Thiyagarajah Gopinath, 19, from Vaddukoddai SouthWest, attended school Thursday morning and failed to return home, according to complaint filed by his parents.
