Six Tamils arrested in Mannaar

Mannaar Police Monday around 7:00 a.m. took six Tamils including
two women into custody in the bazaar area of the Mannaar town. Police alleged that the women, being detained in Mannaar police station, were members of the Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam (LTTE).
The two women are residents of Nanaaddaan and Madukka'rai areas in the
district. Two of the four arrested males are residents of Kotahena in
Colombo district. Police said that they were taken into custody at the
Mannaar bus stand on a report on their suspicious movement. The remaining two
Tamil youths are residents of Mannaar. The six suspects are to be produced in Mannaar court shortly after the
conclusion of the interrogation, being carried out by the Terrorist
Intelligence Department of the Sri Lankan Police.
