Mannaar Bishop meets Nadesan in Ki’linochchi

Rt. Rev. Rayappu Joseph, Bishop of Mannaar Diocese, discussed humanitarian problems faced by the Tamil people with B. Nadesan, the political head of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), in a meeting Thursday around 1:00 p.m in Ki’linochchi.
The suffering of the people displaced from their homes due to Sri Lanka Army (SLA) offensives, the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) bombings on innocent civilian settlements and Claymore attacks on ambulances carrying patients by the Deep Penetration Units (DPU) of the SLA, were some of the issues discussed in the meeting which ended at 2:15 p.m., LTTE officials said. Meanwhile, an Internally Displaced Person (IDP), who was injured in the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) artillery fire on 26.10.2007 on the IDP camp at Periyamadu in Mannaar, succumbed to the wounds Thursday at Muzhangkaavil hospital, medical sources said.
