3 SLA troops killed, 6 injured in Paalamoaddai - LTTE

Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) fighters killed three Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troopers and injured six in a confrontation at Paalamoaddai in Vavuniya district Wednesday from 11:00 a.m to 11.40 a.m, Vavuniyaa LTTE Operations Command said.
Fierce fighting broke out Wednesday morning when SLA troops attempted to advance towards Liberation Tigers Forward Defence Lines (FDLs) in Paalamoaddai. SLA troops fled back to their original positions after the encounter. SLA troops made great efforts to recover the two bodies of their troops which lay in the no-man-zone but were unable to do so due to heavy LTTE fire. The bodies were not recovered until 4:00 p.m. According to LTTE command, LTTE did not suffer any casualties.
