SLN arrests 11 civilians in Kachchaitheevu seas

Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) in Kayts arrested 11 civilians from Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) held Vanni on their way to Tamil Nadu on Kachchaitheevu seas Tuesday early morning, according to the statements in Kayts Magistrate Court where the civilians were produced Wednesday before Kayts Magistrate Ms. Joy Mahatheva.
The SLN officers told the magistrate that the civilians in the boat were arrested on the sea near Nedunththeevu.
The magistrate directed the police to detain the 11 civilians in remand prison until 9 April.
The arrestees are:
Sebastianpillai Johnpillai, resident of Ward 5, Puthukkudirippu, Mullaiththeevu.
Mary Jesintha Sebastianpillai, wife.
Sebastainpillai Vithushan, 5 months, son
Sebastianpillai Vimalaraj, brother.
Chenthamilchelvam Thusikala, the mother in a family from
Sivannakar, Puthukkudirippu, Mulaiththeevu.
Chenthamilchelvam Nisanthan, 21, son.
Chenthamilchelvam Kovithan, 17, son.
Chenthamilchelvam Kovinthan, 9, son.
Vicent Judsen from Koaddaiyadi, Visuvamadu, Vanni.
Ananthan Rajithan from Thaa’laiyadi, Chempianpattu.
Ananthan Rajith, Rajithan’s brother.
The arrestees pleaded the magistrate to help them send them to a safe place with the help of the International Committee of Red Cross.
