Rival party would not hinder JVP-Tilvin Silva

Tilvin Silva, general secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) said Wednesday the formation of a new political party by dissident group leader, Wimal Weerawanse would not hinder the political programme of the JVP. Tilvin Silva said this at a press briefing in reply to Wimal Weerawanse that he would form a new party after May Day if the current leadership of the JVP fails to sort out intra-party dispute, media sources said.

Tilvin Silva further said that Wimal Weerawanse has been avoiding to visit JVP head office since March 1st and to thrash out any difference of opinion cropped up between him and the JVP leadership. He will be welcomed to the JVP headquarters to any time to have a free discussion. It would be useless for him to make public statements at press briefing and in the parliament instead of meeting the JVP leadership at party headquarters, Tilvin Silva added.
